"gut art"

I don't know much about gut art beyond "let the paint speak to you." so on that basis, here are a couple of things i did recently.

resurfacing....

...from Redding, California. Yep, we've moved. It was quick. It has been busy, but fun. We were finally able to start moving into our new townhouse on Thurs afternoon. We've been shopping like crazy; today we'll be picking up a lot of furniture. The Sears guys were here early, and the washer and dryer are ready to go.
I can't wait to get back into the art world. Thanks for your patience and support!
PS--We LOVE LOVE LOVE Redding!

journal happy

at this moment i have 5 art journals going. i love working in them so much. i haven't been great at getting around to scanning + uploading all the pages, but here are a few.
the '3 wishes' page is for my 'all about me' journal, + the page was inspired by a prompt from my good friend, roc.
the other 2 pages are from my 'book of the divine' journal--a place where i journal favorite bible verses and related sayings.

2 of the faces, and some of the borders are from teeshamoore.com.

don't faint...

...but yes, i'm uploading one art journal page. i've done more, but i haven't been so good at scanning + uploading lately. i'll try to do better; i promise!

this is based on a prompt from my friend roc. be sure to check out her blog; her art is amazing.

i have several art journals going at the moment. this one goes in the one i call "all about me."

this page features images from teeshamoore.

journal happy

at the moment i have several art journals in the works...something i've always wanted to do. here's a collaged page i made in my 9x9 journal using images from nancy baumiller's weekly collage play with crowabout challenge, as well as a 5x7ish mixed-media cover i made for another journal, "whispers of the heart," inspired by kelly rae roberts' book, taking flight.
the cover is the face on the left; the page is on the right.

before writing...

...i thought i'd share a few journal pages. 2 are from pam carriker's workshop at strathmoreartist.com. check them out: at the moment there are 3 free workshops that are ongoing, meaning you can jump in at any time and work at your own pace. i believe they'll be available til august.
the other page (genuine standard) is based on crowabout's weekly collage play challenge wherein you develop a piece of art using supplied images.

i'm really getting into art journaling...something i've wanted to do for quite some time. i have 3 journals going. i think one of the things i really enjoy is that you can keep going back to pages and adding more stuff. in a way, they're never done unless you want them to be.

these are all pages in my 9x9 journal. i have a lot more pages started. can't wait to see how they all develop. :)

I'd like to give the world....

If you could give the world something about yourself, what would it be?
I found this journal prompt at journalingprompts.com.
5x7 mixed-media collage journal page featuring a teesha moore image.

what do you believe?

the latest journal prompt from roc: what do you believe? well i could probably easily fill a book in response to that, but i limited myself to this 5x7 mixed-media journal page that features images from teesha moore.
i'm so proud to get roc's prompt done early in the month. maybe i can even do a few more pages this month. that'd make me happy!

finally!

I just haven't been able to carve out a lot of art time lately, but I'm diligently trying to restructure my life so that it can become a part of my every day. But I did get these 2 journal pages done this month.
I wasn't happy with the quality of the paper in my previous journal, so I started over. So I re-did my blue page (what color makes you happy?) and i also did the feb page for my good friend roc's monthly challenge/prompt: what do you love?

what color makes you happy?

ok, the goal was to create about 5 journal pages a week. here it is jan 25th, and i've created a grand total of one page this month! oh well.
anyway, the prompt is what color makes you happy?
for me it's always been blue. what about you?

Giclees in my Etsy

I have reopened my online etsy store, and I have these 2 Giclee prints available.
This artwork has been prepared as a high-resolution digital Giclee (ghee-clay) print used for fine art categories. Giclee prints are produced on specialized inkjet prints, wherein the print is literally sprayed onto the paper in thousands of minute droplets per inch creating images that rival the appearance of continuous tone photographs.
This print has been specially formulated to assure fidelity and longevity, featuring the use of quality archival inks on high-quality 100% cotton archival paper. Treated with the care and respect due any work of art, this print is expected to retain its rich color in excess of one hundred years.

Happy New Year!

Starting off the blog this year with words, no images. But I wanted to wish you all a happy, healthy, and prosperous new year.
I'm not a resolution sort of girl, but I have determined to live artfully in 2011. What about you?
